OFC 2026 Demos

OFC 2026 Live Demos

Our researchers will showcase two live demonstrations highlighting advanced optimisation and scalability for future optica networks. This research is supported by the ALLEGRO EU Project, NESTOR and INTENSE Project, showcasing innovative approaches to optimising future optical networks.

About the Demos

DEMO 1: “QoT Estimation in Coherent Single-Fiber Bidirectional P2MP 400G Links with Digital Subcarrier Multiplexing”

DEMO 2: “Real-time demonstration of 25G-granularity coherent point-to-multipoint, featuring automatic LEAF power control & hitless traffic upgrade”

Venue: OFC 2026 Exhibition – Booth #425 (Berlin Brandenburg Pavilion) 17–19 March 2026

DEMO 1 presents a physics-informed modelling approach for fast and reliable optimisation of point-to-multipoint (P2MP) coherent optical systems. By combining real network monitoring with intelligent modelling, the solution enables:
Real-time Quality of Transmission (QoT) estimation and optimisation
Energy-efficient operation, achieving required QoT with minimal power consumption
Greater scalability and adaptability for future high-capacity optical networks

DEMO 2: A ready product for autonomous physical layer bring-up & commissioning in 25G multi-point networks, offering end-to-end client testing down to low granularity.
Dynamic and hitless capacity update within a constellation by adding new LEAF nodes as well as increasing/decreasing capacity within a LEAF node. Automatic power/SNR-balancing in uplink of all different LEAF nodes in the present of different path losses
