DOCTORAL NETWORK NESTOR

Next generation high-speed optical networks for metro access

Grant agreement ID: 101119983

Project Overview

The NESTOR Project, ” Next generation high-speed optical networks for metro access”, is pioneering advancements in optical networks to meet the surging data demands driven by ultra-HD streaming, cloud computing, and 5G. NESTOR focuses on deploying cost-efficient coherent optical transceivers to address the critical need for higher data rates, especially in access and metro links. This initiative combines expertise from top academic and industry partners to train twelve researchers, Doctoral Candidates (DCs), equipping them with cutting-edge ML&AI and telecom engineering skills for designing future-proof high-capacity networks.
