José Núñez Kasaneva
Doctoral Candidate 1
Eindhoven University of Technology
Short Bio: José was born in 1997 in Calama, Chile. He received a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and an MSc. in Electrical Engineering, both from Universidad de Concepción (UDEC), Chile, in 2021 and 2022, respectively. His current interests include optical networks, optical communications, digital signal processing, forward error correction (FEC), machine learning and optimization.
Research Project: Advanced DSP and transmission strategies for metro/access networks.
Project Summary: Developing DSP and coded-modulation techniques for low- cost optical transceivers. Enhancing transmission performance for the short-haul network segment. Devising strategies to reduce computational complexity and latency of the introduced solutions to simplify the architecture and to reduce the energy consumption.
